Every Highland Hut starts with the same high-quality insulated shell and structural specification. The three models differ only in their size, window layout and the options you choose, allowing each hut to be tailored to its intended use.

The exterior of the hut is designed to provide durability, weather protection, and a traditional shepherd’s hut appearance. All huts use a timber frame structure with breathable layered construction to protect against the elements while allowing natural airflow.
Our huts are designed as permanent structures. The wheels are weight-bearing and may be used to manoeuvre the hut into position, but they are primarily decorative and must not support the hut permanently, as prolonged ground contact can cause deterioration. Please consider the required base and supports before ordering.

Choose between our standard torch-on felt roof or upgrade to a curved corrugated steel finish. Both options use the same insulated structural roof construction, with the main differences being appearance, maintenance and long-term durability.
Compare the standard external door and available internal door styles. Both are handcrafted from hardwood, with options designed to provide security, durability, privacy and efficient use of space.
You will need a qualified electrician to connect, test and certify the installation once the hut is in position. Cable sizes shown are Highland Huts’ typical first-fix provision; final requirements depend on the circuit design, appliance ratings, cable routes, installation method and available power supply.
Compare the standard timber subfloor with carpet and laminate upgrades. Choose the finish that best suits how the hut will be used, with options for comfort, durability and easy maintenance.
Our fitted kitchenette is designed to maximise your space while providing everything you need for everyday use. Cabinet finishes, worktops and optional upgrades can be selected during the specification stage.
All internal water pipework is installed using PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) pipework. PEX is flexible, durable and well suited to timber-framed buildings, helping accommodate normal movement while reducing the number of joints within the walls.
Internal plumbing is routed within the floor and wall construction wherever practical before exiting beneath the hut. Water supply and waste connections are left accessible beneath the floor, ready for connection by your own plumber after delivery.
40 mm waste pipe is used as the main internal run for basins, showers and kitchen sinks. Basin fittings may use a 32 mm connection before joining the 40 mm system. A separate 110 mm soil pipe is provided where a fixed WC is selected.

To minimise visible external pipework, water supply and waste connections can usually be grouped to a single service point beneath the hut. The preferred entry and exit location should be confirmed before manufacture so internal plumbing can be routed accordingly.
