Meet the Team

Highland Huts is a small family-run business combining direct customer service with over 40 years of joinery experience. John manages enquiries, quotations, layouts, administration, accounts, the website and social media, while his dad—a time-served joiner—handcrafts each hut. What began as a hobby selling huts through Facebook and Gumtree has grown into a trusted local business delivering bespoke huts across Scotland.

Quick questions can be sent by WhatsApp, and workshop visits are welcome by appointment.

Visit the Workshop in Inverness

We welcome workshop visits near Inverness, where you can often see a hut under construction or ready for delivery and discuss your ideas in person. Visits are by appointment, and where no workshop hut is available, a family-owned Highland Huts made cabin may sometimes be viewed—or booked for an overnight stay—between guest bookings.

We started building shepherd’s huts in 2020 during the COVID lockdowns, initially selling locally through Facebook and Gumtree. As demand grew, so did the builds, with over 30 huts now delivered across Scotland.

Today our huts are used for Airbnb rentals, garden rooms, offices and more. Each one is built in our workshop near Inverness, with everything managed in-house to keep the process simple and personal from start to finish.
