Yes. We deliver huts across Scotland. We can organise for delivery across the UK but this may incur extra charges
Delivery costs depend on distance from our workshop and site access requirements. In many cases we offer a fixed delivery fee within certain distances, with longer distances quoted individually.
Huts are normally delivered on a trailer and unloaded from a suitable roadside location. Customers must ensure that there is adequate access for delivery vehicles.
Huts should be placed on a solid and level base such as paving slabs, concrete pads or compacted hardcore. This ensures the hut remains stable and properly supported.
Planning permission depends on how the hut will be used and where it is located. Garden huts may not require permission, but huts used for accommodation or commercial purposes often do. Customers should check with their local planning authority.

Shepherd’s huts do not normally require traditional foundations but must sit on a firm, level base such as concrete pads, sleepers, or a prepared gravel base.

Our joiner has worked in joinery for most of his life and began building shepherd’s huts in 2020. What started as a personal project during the COVID lockdowns quickly grew into a small business as demand increased. Since then, more than 30 huts have been handcrafted and delivered to customers across Scotland. Highland Huts was created as the next step in that journey — a dedicated brand focused on designing and building high-quality shepherd’s huts in the Scottish Highlands.
Highland Huts is a small family-run business based near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Each hut is handcrafted rather than mass-produced, and customers deal directly with the builder throughout the process. Our aim is to provide a high-quality, practical hut built with attention to detail and designed to suit each customer’s needs. See our gallery of our work

We also have a shepherd’s hut at our building location that is available to stay in as short-term accommodation. It can be booked through Airbnb or directly with us, giving you the chance to experience the hut and see the quality of our work first-hand.
